Choo Choo Please Do

Choo choo, please do, take me over many miles, choo choo, please do, I wanna see my granny smile. Wanna play trains with granddad while the lantern's burning bright. Please don't let me lose the choo choo blues, that's a little boy's delight. (or girl's according to which child she sang it to)

My Mawmaw sang this to every one of her grand kids as she rocked them to sleep when they were babies (including me).

I had forgotten the words!!! NEW
by: Shana

Omgoodness! My granny used to rock and sing this to me and all my cousins when we were little and then to our kids once we were grown! She passed away in 2007 and I could only remember some of the words to it until I read this ❤️ I had a son at 41 and he’s now 6 months old! I will be singing this to him every night from now on and I hope one day, when he has kids of his own, he will sing it to them too! One day I will tell him the story of where it came from!!

CHOO-CHOO NEW

My husband and I recorded my "remembered" version of the song.
My grandmother sang this song to my sister and me. It's just adorable and I hope I have most of the lyrics correct. www.glaymarie.com

I have two brothers, Bobby and Art.
Our beautiful and talented Mother played the guitar and sang us this song on numerous occasions. We loved it then and we love it now.
Our fondest memories as children was going to grannies house.

The story behind this song as I've heard it:
It was written by a homesick soldier. He was away at war.
