Dream? Return?

i remember singing a beautiful lullaby to my children in the early 1990s that I had heard on a lullaby cd. it spoke about a child whose dream at night is that mother is leaving, but the mother reassures him/her that she will be right here when they wake up.

It would be so hopeful if someone else remembers this lovely song. i believe it was song by a woman. Let me know if you have the lyrics.

Thanks so much.

It sounds very similar to the one I’m looking for - I know all the lyrics but don’t know the name of the song and can’t find it anywhere:

Sleep now little baby, close your sleepy eyes
Sand man’s waiting for you with a big surprise
He’ll take you to dream land flying through the night
You’ll find hidden in starlight visions of delight
Ice cream mountains and soda fountains and candy orchards you’ll see. Chocolate makers and apple pie bakers are waiting there for thee.
Sleep now little baby, let there be no more cries,
You’ll find your mother and father when you open your eyes.

It sounds familiar, and may be on the same cd zip am looking for. It was recorded by a black female artist and had her holding a baby I believe was a girl. If I find it in will pass it on to you.

I posted this request, and my description is wrong. What I recall is that this lullabye described the sleeping CHILD as traveling away from the mother, into his/her dream. The mother reassures the child that, whenever the child returns from the dream, the mother will be right there, waiting.
