Thank you thank you thank you to the previous commenter who figured this out! I immediately searched and found the MP3 version on Amazon and purchased for nostalgia sake. I’ve been missing my mom a lot lately because of COVID travel restrictions and this immediately brought me back to childhood. So special, thanks again. I’m happy to have these songs saved in a permanent way!

It’s on The Rock A Bye collection volume 2 cd.
Sung by Tanya Goodman Sykes.
This one is hard to find. There’s a volume 1 that can be found at Target and Amazon.
Also, another wonder one but her is A Chil’s Gift of Lullabyes.
I had them all and loved sing too my children in the late 80’s.
I’m about to be a Grandma and had to find this music.
My daughter and I loved, I’l Love you Forever!!!!!

I had this same cassette & CD but it has since been lost and no one in my family can remember the details. I know the lyrics are very similar to the rhyme from the popular book (one of those most popular kids books of all times and definitely not what we’re referring to), so it’s hard to find accurate results for this particular song - I wish I could remember an excerpt from any other song, but I remember them all being very beautiful and sweet, not cutesy like most lullabies & kids songs. I hope someone can advise!

Yes! I know this song well, it was a woman singing. My little cousin had this cd, I have been humming the same verse ever since I was little and would love to find the cd for my little girl but I have no idea what it was called!

I never knew that this was a song but it's from a book the title is Love You Fover theirs a picture of a baby dropping a watch into a toilet onto the cover and it goes I love you forever I'll love you for always as long as I'm living my baby you'll be the book starts with a young woman holding her infant son and singing the book progresses with them getting older and no matter how old the son gets the mother will always sneak into his bedroom when he's sleeping cradle him and sing even when he's a grown man she's an old woman she literally breaks in through his window cradles her sleeping son and singings the illustrations throughout the entire book are really good and the second to last page shows the mom dying and to old to get out of bed and the son comes and he cradles her and sings to her and the last page is the song cradling his daughter and singing
