rockabye Rockabye oh baby oh rockabye rockabye so quickly you'll grow

by Anne Davis-Gervan
(Eureka CA)

out from the covers what do I see
two little eyes smiling at me
we both should be sleeping but I'd rather be here making memories for us to keep
so things less important will just have to keep while I rockabye by my baby to sleep.

this was on a cassette tape of lullabys that my mother gave me in 1991 when my son was born and now I can't find the tape. I loved all of the other songs as well. Does anyone know where I can find it?

Special Memories NEW
by: Allyson

My son was born in 1992 and I sang this song every night to him. Finally when he was 13, he said "You know Mom, you don't need to sing this any more." I miss that time of singing this song to him

Search for Rock-a-bye artist NEW

My son was born in 1991, & this was "our song" too. The Nicolette Larson cd title of "Sleep Baby Sleep", that others have mentioned, rang a bell, & sounded familiar, but since it was recorded in 1994, it can't be the one I'm looking for. I'm still on the hunt. The tape was given to me as part of a shower gift, & has sadly, disappeared over the years.😔

Oh Baby, Oh...
by: Celia Jones Hinds

My only son is now 16 and the beautiful songs from that audio cassette, (a friend shared until her second child was born two years later), remain an essential part of the sound track of our lives.

I want to secure a copy to give to Russell for when he becomes a father....

Tears come to my eyes all too often when I recall the lyrics and melodies.

Motherhood... What a joy!

Looking for rockabye rockaby oh baby oh
by: Anonymous

I used to play this song every night for my daughter after she was born in 1992. She is now 22 and I find myself humming to this song. I'm glad to find the lyrics but wish I could find the actual music. Hard to find. My favorite lullabye song.

Perhaps Tanya Goodman or Nicollete Larson's recordings?
by: Anonymous

I have the Rock-a-Bye Song on two different audiotapes. Maybe one of them is the version that you remember?

Nicollete Larson's Sleep, Baby, Sleep (original recording dated 1994). Now available on Amazon.com (either the entire album or a 99 cent download of the individual song): http://www.amazon.com/Sleep-Baby-Nicolette-Larson/dp/B0000029FT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403827495&sr=8-1&keywords=sleep+baby+sleep+nicolette+larson

Tanya Goodman's The Rock-A-Bye Collection (released 1989). Now available on CD Baby
http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/tgoodman3 or on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Rock-A-Bye-Collection-1/dp/B0001JXPWK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1403828211&sr=8-1&keywords=the+rock-a-bye+collection

Hopefully one of these albums is the one that you enjoyed listening to with your baby!

Rockabye Lullaby
by: Anonymous

Hi, I sang this son to both of my sons in the late80s, early 90s, but can't find a recording/video of it anywhere. Not on YouTube, can't find anything on the Anne Davis-Gervan (Eureka CA). Any suggestions where to get a recording? Thanks!

rockabye Rockabye oh baby oh rockabye rockabye so quickly you'll grow
by: Loui

Hi

I was looking for the words to this lullaby, too. My friend gave me a tape when my son was born in 1995, and I loved this song so much! I can't remember who the singer was or the name of the tape, but this was my favourite song on it. My son is now nearly 19 and going to college… still makes me cry when I think about rocking him as a tiny baby and singing this song.
