Tinkle tonkle

Tinkle tonkle, tinkle tonkle on the hillside green.
Tinkle tonkle, tinkle tonkle Brendle can be seen.
Where the grass is short and sweet, that is where she loves to eat.
Tinkle tonkle, tinkle tonkle on the hillside green.

Tinkle tonkle, tinkle tonkle on the hillside green.
When she turns her head around, you can hear the cowbell sound.
Tinkle tonkle, tinkle tonkle on the hillside green.

My grandmother and mother sang this lullaby to me as a child. I am trying to find the origin. My grandmother said it was English. And her grandmother and mother sang it to her as a child. Which would be more than 100 years ago.

Tinkle Tonkle Lullaby
by: Kris Nichols

My grandmother and mother sang this to me as well! It has been in our family for quite some time and my son is wanting to record it for our future generations. We would also love to know the origin of this song and see if there are any additional lyrics. The lyrics posted are are the exact ones we sing. I love that the song is being sung in other families as well.
