Twinkle Twinkle Little Star was originally published in 1806 as “The Star” in Rhymes for the Nursery, a book of poetry by Jane Taylor and her sister, Ann. We love the illustrations done by Michael Hague in this edition published by Morrow Junior Books in New York (ISBN #0-688-11169-6). The best way to find this book is through a second hand publisher as it seems to be out of print.
“I first found this gorgeous book when reading to a friend’s son. I had no idea there were so many verses to Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star! I was so excited to find it. When I was pregnant I called my friend to get the illustrator’s name so that I could get a copy for my baby’s arrival. It is a wonderful book to sing and to use baby signs with and is a treasure in our library.” -lullaby lady, Amy Robbins-Wilson
